Great advertisement is assured with promotional products
Promotional Products
Companies often have the task of getting their advertising out to the public, but they may not want to do it through the tired method of newspaper advertising. Newspaper advertising is a dying form, and many people do not even notice what appears in the newspaper when they flip through it.
As a result, more and more companies are going the route of promotional products.
What Are They?
What exactly are promotional products and what purpose do they serve?
Well, promotional products are the type of products that are given out at company get-togethers, as well as company sponsorships.
They are a way that a company can get its name and logo out to a wide variety of people, through the premise that they are winning something.
People are not always keen on buying a company's merchandise, unless it serves a purpose related to the company (think software by Microsoft, jeans by Levi). However, if they win it as part of a sponsorship package, they will be more interested in showing it off and telling people what they won and the company that sponsored it.
Also, promotional products can be used when you are having a sale, "Buy Two Jackets and Get a Company Hat!"
What to Sponsor?
It can be difficult to figure out exactly what to sponsor, however by looking at a list of your clients, you can begin to formulate some ideas. First of all, if any of your clients are having an office golf tournament, then that is a perfect opportunity to sponsor something for it. It could be a cup with your logo on it, a shirt with your company name, or a pen with your slogan, as long as it has your company's name, then it is a promotional product.
Does it Cost More?
Obviously, when you advertise in the paper, several thousands more people will see your logo than if you have promotional products given to them. However, most of those thousands of people will simply go to the next page of the paper and your ad will end up at the bottom of the bird cage.
With promotional products, if done right, you will have less exposure but more 'face' time with the person who wins the prize, or the person who buys something to get the product. That is the big difference.
Conclusion
Companies will often use promotional products in an effort to entice customers to buy something extra to qualify for the product, which many will do. As well, promotional products at sponsored events are a great way to get your company name out.
Think about promotional materials when ever you are thinking about advertising your business, often they can work better than newspaper advertising.
