Cobourg Police Service Partnering to Give a Winter Helping Hand to the Less Fortunate

To lend a helping hand to the less fortunate and homeless, the Cobourg Police Service has partnered with the Northumberland United Way and Project Winter Survival to help distribute winter survival kits to those in need.

While on general patrol, Cobourg officers will help distribute winter survival kits to those in need. Police Chief Kai Liu says “Project Winter Survival provides our officers with additional means to help and show compassion to the less fortunate and homeless individuals they encounter during their tour of duty”.

For the past 14 years, Project Winter Survival and its team of volunteers & donors have assembled and distributed more than 15,000 kits to homeless throughout the GTA and beyond. This year, Project Winter Survival received close to 11,000 requests for kits from front-line agencies. The survival kits which contain items such as sleeping bags, clothing, food and personal care items often make difference between life and death.

Project Winter Survival is a “Give Back Where You Live” initiative. To learn more and make a donation, please visithttps://www.bargainsgroup.com/project-winter-survival/.
