SNAP North Toronto – Project Winter Survival

Over the winter months as temperatures drop, concern for the welfare of the city’s homeless population rises. Living on the streets at the best of times is difficult enough. Last month, Project Winter Survival, a volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing essential supplies to people living on the street during the winter season, distributed 3,000 survival kits through 172 frontline agencies situated throughout GTA and its outskirts. These kits were assembled at The Bargains Group Ltd., and the approximately 150 volunteer assemblers came from a diverse contingent of businesses, community groups, and services such as the Toronto Police Service.
