This year marks the 23rd anniversary of The Salvation Army and CTV Toy Mountain campaign. You can make Christmas a little merrier for families who are struggling this holiday season by helping build a mountain of toys at various malls and plazas throughout Ontario from November 23 to December 22.
This year marks the 23rd anniversary of The Salvation Army and CTV Toy Mountain campaign. You can make Christmas a little merrier for families who are struggling this holiday season by helping build a mountain of toys at various malls and plazas throughout Ontario from November 23 to December 22.
Simply bring a new, unwrapped toy to one of the many official donation toy drops located throughout Ontario, or join in the fun at the Toy Mountain event nearest you. Toy Mountain events will be held throughout Toronto, Barrie, London, Kitchener and Ottawa.
The Toy Mountain Launch – Christmas in the Square will be held at Yonge-Dundas Square on November 23. Events, including a concert, will be held throughout the day.
Other events throughout the city include Santa’s Streetcar, held November 24 at the Kingston Road Loop. There will be face painting, a barbecue and photos with Santa in a vintage streetcar. Take part in building a massive LEGO Mystery Mural at Union Station from November 12 to December 2, and LEGO Canada will donate a LEGO set to Toy Mountain.
The Park ’N Fly – Stuff a Bus for Toy Mountain will be held on December 1 at the Toys “R” Us parking lot in Mississauga. The Annual Tree Lighting and Fireworks in Pickering will feature rides, live entertainment and a visit from Santa.
This year The Salvation Army has partnered with Kits for a Cause to create kits for tweens and teens. These often neglected age groups will get packages filled with age-appropriate gifts like hoodies, water bottles, winter hats, gloves and personal care products. Cash donations are also greatly appreciated.
